Jessica Simpson Lands in London

Fresh from a transatlantic flight, Jessica Simpson was spotted arriving at Heathrow International Airport in London, England today (September 22).

Accompanied by stylist BFF Ken Paves, the “Come on Over” songstress looked a bit down as she strolled past paparazzi hiding behind a pair of sunglasses and carrying a massive handbag.

Jessica Simpson’s Pooch: Taken By Coyotes?

It’s no secret that Jessica Simpson is obsessed with her dog Daisy, but it looks like the furry friend may have been apprehended by a hungry coyote.

According to a report, the “Come on Over” songstress’ dog has gone missing, leaving Jess at a loss for what to do.

Jessica Simpson is sometimes hit or miss with me. There aren’t many of the brand’s styles that I absolutely detest, but I’m not always in love with them either. This Jimmy satchel takes a turn for the better as far as my opinion goes.

Yet again, you can’t expect anything even remotely close to real croc leather or something that’s a superb imitation when you’re paying Jessica Simpson prices. This satchel is only $108, so there’s no mistaking it for the real deal. However, people paying in this price range wouldn’t expect it and probably wouldn’t be disappointed by what they get.

With this interesting patchwork of faux croc textures and colors, I’m not particularly distracted by the fake material, though. The mix of neutral browns with a pop of this season’s trendy purple color is very appealing to the eye. The colors work well together to create a versatile handbag despite the fact that purple is anything but a neutral by most standards.

What stood out to me as missing on this bag is the signature Jessica Simpson cursive logo sewn on the bottom panel. What’s there in place of it is a J-shaped piece of hardware that actually functions as the Jimmy satchel’s clasp closure. It was unexpected to me and quite clever. If I didn’t know that this is a Jessica Simpson design, I probably wouldn’t have ever noticed that it is shaped like the letter. Kudos to the brand for a little originality.

The somewhat brassy Jessica Simpson has done it again, producing yet another sophisticated and remarkably classy handbag for her eponymous designer line.

Looking like an updated version of the traditional doctor’s bag or snakeskin satchel, this glossy patent tote has quite a lot going for it. Not only is the over-sized bow detail sexy, but you get a traditional curved handbag shape that offers space and comfort, even with the slightly undersized handles.

Even more tempting is that this Jessica Simpson satchel offers so many color, print and decoration versions that there is bound to be one that suits you. Whether you like feminine ruffled totes, sophisticated snakeskin, or summery floral with contrasting bows, this range has it all! The interior is cute too, in contrasting fabric that works best in the black bag with decadent red lining.

The runway bag doesn’t offer any exterior pockets, meaning everything needs to be stored inside and not necessarily within easy access. At least the glossy doctors bag offers one interior pocket, though a chunky hold-all like this could have done with more.

All in all this is a chic and fashionable bag that successfully combines vintage with modern, and kitsch with class.

Bulga Zaraf Satchel | Sleek and Simple Leather Handbag with Exterior Pockets

Sometimes I wonder why I don’t see more Bulga handbags on celebrities considering this designer brand’s range of styles and tendency to produce those ever-popular oversized satchels. It’s not that this relatively young label’s designs haven’t been spotted on any famous shoulders. Jessica Simpson and Miley Cyrus are among their fans. However, perhaps it sometimes gets overlooked for the latest fad.

This Zaraf handbag is a prime example of Bulga’s unique take on the satchel. It might not be the most original design I’ve ever seen, but it’s still something that stands out in its simplicity.

The large bag’s lack of adornment and superfluous features give it a contemporary look. Its clean lines, however, are what make it worth a look, in my opinion. In contrast to some satchels with intricately woven textures or bold metallic hardware, which are details that can be equally stylish, the Zaraf relies on its quality to attract attention. 

At $495 a pop, you should expect nothing less than high quality, though. The leather looks great and is set off beautifully with tone on tone stitching. It seems like the kind of satchel that just gets better the longer you use it.

Exterior pockets make it perfectly practical for your everyday needs as well as add to the bag’s sleek style. The interior isn’t exactly flush with organizational compartments, but it is open and roomy for large items with a zippered pocket for smaller things. Overall, this Zaraf satchel in trendy purple will serve you well for function and fashion.

Jessica Simpson Runway Satchel | Black Manmade Ruffled Frame Handbag

Because of the extremely wide variety of styles offered by Jessica Simpson’s handbag line, there are sure to be at least a few duds here and there. This one, in my opinion, does not happen to be one of them.

Although I wouldn’t call it particularly trendy, it does have one of the design features we’ve been seeing an awful lot of lately: ruffles, ruffles, and more ruffles. It’s not the first, and it certainly won’t be the last handbag we see covered in the detail. However, in comparison to some others I’ve seen, this one looks great.

The Runway Satchel combines the feminine feature with a classic frame shape, a combination that works extremely well together aesthetically. The two styles blend well and complement each other. The downside to a framed bag is that it takes an extra step to get inside to your stored goods. On the other hand, it seems at least a tad more secure than totes with a single magnetic snap or no closure at all.

Of course, since we’re talking about Jessica Simspon here, you can’t expect real leather. This mandmade material keeps the Runway Satchel down to a pleasing $88, though. For a classic bag with a slightly trendy twist, many people would be willing to pay more for leather, but this one is a great option anyway.
