6 of the Buzziest Billboard Music Award Moments: Justin Bieber Booed, Miguel’s Leg Drop and More

From superstars getting booed by the audience to singers falling on audience members' heads to Nicki Minaj's naughty lap dance and awkward backstage smooches, there was plenty of sin at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Here are 5 of the most talked-about moments from last night's show.

1. Justin Bieber Booed: While accepting the Milestone Award (a new fan-voted award given to an artist who shows the most musical ingenuity and innovation), Justin Bieber came off a little too cocky for the audience's taste, and his speech – in which the teen superstar praised his own career and said he "should be taken seriously" – illicited loud boos from the crowd. Billboard Music Awards host Tracy Morgan – who himself knows a thing or two (or three!) about being booed, tried to negate the situation, saying, "Don't be booin' nobody, this ain't 'Showtime at the Apollo."

2. Backstage Smooch: The Biebs had a busy night last night. At some point in the evening, Justin grabbed on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez's arm backstage, and after exchanging a few words, the pair exchanged ...

Jennifer Lopez Named Chief Creative Officer of NuvoTV

NuvoTV announced that Jennifer Lopez will assume the position of its Chief Creative Officer at its upfront presentation for advertisers on Wednesday.

Lopez -- who owns a stake in the English-language cable network for Latinos and produces programming for the network under her company, Nuyorican Productions -- took the stage for the presentation alongside NUVOtv's chief executive officer Michael Schwimmer, head of programming Bill Hilary and senior vice president of advertising sales Craig Geller.

"Latinos are a force in this country. We are an engine for growth – we have huge economic power and unprecedented political and cultural influence and it's time for television to reflect who the modern Latino actually is – not who we are believed to be - not who we may have been - but who we are now," said Lopez in a statement.

Is ‘American Idol’ Having Its Worst Week Ever?

Fox's "American Idol" is having a really bad week. The network's big revenue generator is showing signs of distress.

"The falloff has really been the last two years," Brad Adgate of media-buying firm Horizon Media tells TheWrap. "You have to look at what's happened since then with the competition and the audience fatigue and the judges and the number of choices out there."

At its height in 2006, the show was attracting about 30 million viewers. Compare that number to last week's results episode, which brought in 11.9 million total viewers and was beat in the key 18-49 demo by repeats of "The Big Bang Theory" – yes, reruns.

If the ratings woes weren't enough to worry network and show executives, add an explosive story about an alleged judges shuffle to the mix. On Tuesday, THR reported that the show producers had plotted to replace new judge Mariah Carey with former judge Jennifer Lopez. Insiders claim it was a desperate move to create buzz and curiosity among viewers in order to revive this season's flagging ratings. A plot that was ...

Post WGAs, David O. Russell, Al Pacino Pick up Awards

An Awards Nightcap

After losing to "Argo" writer Chris Terrio at the Writers Guild Awards Sunday night, "Silver Linings Playbook" writer-director David O. Russell still came out a winner in Hollywood.

Russell picked up a "Director of the Year" Award at the L.A., Italia Film Festival, which took place at the rechristened TCL Chinese Theatre (formerly Grauman's).

For any as-yet undecided Academy voters watching the clock, Russell's appearance came only hours before Oscars voting closes Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Al Pacino joined Russell at the festival, picking up the inaugural Jack Valenti - Legend Award, a tribute to the late former MPAA president. Larry King, fresh off presenting duties at the "Streamy Awards" earlier in the day presented to Pacino.

Scheduling issues kept Robert De Niro and Jennifer Lawrence away from picking up their respective Actor and Actress of the Year awards on Sunday night, but just-off-the-plane-from-New York Harvey Weinstein accepted on their behalf.

Talent manager Rick Nicita, Martha De Laurentiis (above right, with Russell), and Mark Canton steer the eighth edition of the L.A. Italia festival, which coincides with Oscar week.

Continuing past the Academy's voting deadline and into Oscar weekend, the festival ...

‘Parker’ Review: How to Turn a Serviceable Thriller into a Bloody Bore

If you've ever wanted to see the camel that's the result of that proverbial horse-building committee, check out "Parker" — and the hump, you'll pardon the expression, is the character played by Jennifer Lopez. But more on her in a moment.

Jason Statham stars as Jason Statham as Parker, a master criminal who actually believes in honor among thieves. That's why he's so furious and out for revenge against the quartet of hoods (played by Michael Chiklis, Wendell Parker, Micah A. Hauptman and Clifton Collins, Jr.) who bungled their recent robbery of a state fair. Oh, and they also shot Parker and left him for dead by the side of the road, but that almost seems like a secondary offense to our hero.

Parker tracks these goons to Palm Beach, where they're planning a complicated jewel heist, and poses as a Houston billionaire in the hopes of getting real estate agent Leslie (Lopez) to point out houses that have been recently purchased for about a million dollars, which was the take from the state fair job. Never mind that Statham has one of the least convincing Texas accents ever to be heard on the big screen; by this point ...
