The 17-year-old bulked up for the part, gaining 30 pounds in order to play a growing Jacob, who discovers that he has some mysterious new powers in ‘New Moon.’ Meanwhile, Jacob also becomes a major part of his pal Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) life as she deals with a separation from her vampire love Edward Cullen (Rob Pattinson). Imagine Twilight, but with Frankenstein in place of Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen, Taylor Swift starring in the Bella role and a mummy instead of Taylor Lautner’s Jacob Black. Well, that’s what the folks at Saturday Night Live did this weekend — and the result is the digital short, “Firelight.”

Robert Pattinson’s 2008 indie music movie How to Be is finally coming to DVD on November 17th, and Access Hollywood has some exclusive footage of the Twilight Saga star belting out “I’m Doing Fine” to a packed bar crowd.
Complete with strange hair, and an even stranger purple T-shirt, Pattinson looks nothing like his suave vampire alter-ego Edward Cullen. Look on the bright side, Twilighters — it beats his multicolored scarf and drainpipe jeans combination in the UK comedy drama The Bad Mother’s Handbook. But only just.
“Twilight star Robert Pattinson vaulted to fame as immortal vampire Edward Cullen, but he admits the vampire lifestyle is not for him. For one, he doesn’t think he would want to live forever. Pattinson has been immersed all things vampire during shooting for sequel “New Moon” and now the follow up, “Eclipse.” But he’s taken a break and is on a press tour of Australia and New Zealand ahead of New Moon’s debut next month. Despite his fondness for the “Twilight" saga and his character, Pattinson insists he'll be happy to finally be finished with the film series, after concluding “Breaking Dawn.” And, he’d never want to be a vampire himself. New Moon, starring Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Green, Michael Sheen, Dakota Fanning and others debuts Nov. 20.
”Twilight” star Robert Pattinson says took inspiration from 1950s teen heartthrob James Dean for his role in 'Twilight'. The Improper noted the similarities in an article in August. Rob’s looks and career trajectory are very similar to two early film icons, Dean and Marlon Brando. The 23-year-old British actor, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the hit movie franchise, says he owes his success to the Academy Award-nominated star of “Rebel Without a Cause.” Dean, a relative unknown, vaulted to fame in “East of Eden,” a film based on a novel by Nobel Laureate John Steinbeck. He played the troubled son of a farmer in a story loosely based on the Biblical tale of Cain and Abel.
"Twilight" Stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were no shows at the Rome Film Festival preview for “New Moon,” but they may have been wise to stay away. “New Moon’s” Volturi clan turned out in force for a major Italian preview of “Twilight” sequel “New Moon.” Volturi vampires were on the blood red carpet, Thursday, along with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg. A flood of video clips have hit the Internet, and the latest previews the fight scene between Edward Cullen and Volturi clan member Felix. (See it here with a video of the Rome preview)
