Miley Cyrus Recruits Britney Spears’ Manager for Career Comeback

She’s been out of the music game for awhile now, and Miley Cyrus has enlisted Larry Rudolph to help revive her pop music career.

The “Party in the USA” babe apparently liked what she saw when Rudolph breathed life back into Britney Spears' game, and hopes he can do the same for her.

An insider told press, “Larry has the track record to handle an international pop star like Miley,” and with her new album on its way, it seems Rudolph has arrived just in time.

Speaking of which, producer Ernest “Tuo” Clark has been bragging on Cyrus’ new ditties.
"I can say it's definitely going to shock a lot of people; definitely grown up. It's natural; it's not her trying to do like pop, four on the floor. What she did was, I just feel like, was different and needed in the game and, then, for her a huge 'wow' factor.”

Britney Spears Confirms She Won’t Return to ‘X Factor’ Next Season

Oops...another judge did it again.

Britney Spears has confirmed she's not returning to "X Factor" next season, making her the second judge to jump ship since record exec L.A. Reid announced his departure last month.

"I've made the very difficult decision not to return for another season," Spears said in a statement obtained by TheWrap. "I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it's time for me to get back in the studio."

Apparently, Spears snagged a little inspiration on top of the $15 million paycheck she earned for judging and mentoring talent on the second season of Simon Cowell's reality competition series.

"Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much," she added. "I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love most."

Spears will be the fifth judge to leave the show since Fox first picked up the UK hit in 2011. Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and Cheryl Cole left after the first season.

Britney Spears Joins CAA Amid ‘X Factor’ Exit Reports

Britney Spears is making some big changes these days.

The "Womanizer" singer is reportedly leaving "The X Factor" after a season on the show -- and now, as it turns out, Spears has switched talent agencies.

Spears has moved to Creative Artists Agency, a spokeswoman for CAA told TheWrap on Thursday. Spears had previously been with William Morris Endeavor Entertainment.

The change comes amid reports that Spears will exit Fox's talent competition "The X Factor."

TMZ reported late Wednesday that Spears, who was reportedly paid $15 million for the "X Factor" judging gig, decided not to return so that she can focus on her music. (Spears is currently working on her eighth studio album.)

Spears' former "X Factor" cohort, record executive Antonio "L.A." Reid, decided not to return to the series late last year, so that he can focus on his career as a music-industry big shot.

Fox had no comment for TheWrap on reports that Spears has decided to leave the show.

Fox Chief Kevin Reilly: We ‘Limped’ Out of Fall Season

Fox entertainment chief Kevin Reilly has a self-deprecating take on his network's fall season, saying it "limped" into the New Year. But he said he plans for the network to pick up more male viewers and "put a little more Fox back in Fox."

Later, he joked with a reporter that everyone makes mistakes: "Look at my fall," he said.

Reilly spoke at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Tuesday, where he also said he expects Britney Spears to return as an "X Factor" judge and that his network's Tuesday night comedy block was a major source of frustration.

He said he remains confident in the quality of the Tuesday night shows, but that audiences may need time to find them. For that reason, he said, he will hold off on airing "The Goodwin Games," a sitcom in the Fox bullpen awaiting an airdate. He said the show may not debut until summer.

He also said he hopes the show's Tuesday night lineup can appeal to more men. The current lineup includes "Raising Hope," "Ben & Kate," "New Girl" and "The Mindy Project."

Britney Spears and Will.i.am Team Up To Make Horrible Music

Britney and Will.i.amThe music video for Britney Spears and Will.i.am’s horrible new single “Scream & Shout” debuted Thursday night on The X Factor to riotous applause from the crowd. One can only imagine that the applause was an tender-hearted attempt, probably coordinated by that old softie Mario Lopez, to keep sweet Britney from learning the truth and possibly risk teetering over the edge into another head-shaving/umbrella-jousting depression.

The truth is that the video, directed by Ben Mor, was destined to failure because the song itself is such tired auto-tuned crap. The only redeeming feature of both the song and video is the “Britney bitch” sample from Britney’s 2007 single “Gimme More,” which is interjected at three points in the song. It’s almost good enough to forgive the faux-British, Madonna-esque accent that Britney affects throughout the song.

Despite having some cool images, the video has no real punch. I appreciate a music video that doesn’t bother with a story, because they generally seem rushed and lame, but for a song that’s nearly five minutes long, you need more than just a series of images or at least a little more skin in order not to bore the audience to death. There are the requisite party ...
